Choose the surface for your collection

Choose between matt and gloss ABA panels

The finish changes how light and decoration read across a wall. Choose it alongside the panel format, print and joint, then use the surface evidence for that actual version.

Decide how the wall should read

A marble-look bathroom and a linen-look interior show different design directions. These room visualisations are product references; the finish decision comes from physical samples.

High gloss gives a reflective surface that becomes part of the room’s lighting composition. Matt takes the design in a less reflective direction. Neither description fixes the exact gloss level, texture or colour: those belong to the supplied surface.

Start with the intended wall rather than a small screen image. A dramatic stone print, a quiet plain tone and a fabric-look design ask different things of the finish. The wider collection includes all of these directions, with availability tied to the selected decor and format.

Compare the surface construction

The wider reinforced-hybrid range and individual documented configurations describe their surfaces at different levels of detail.

Read the finish-specific results

Available configuration-specific documentation reports results for the particular surfaces tested.

Under EN 16094, the documentation reports micro-scratch classes ≤ MSR-B2 for matt and ≤ MSR-B5 for PET. These are results for the documented configuration’s surfaces, rather than a rating for every matt or glossy ABA panel.

The documented configuration also reports a pass at ≥ 20 N under ISO 1518-1, with a visible surface scratch but no penetration to the substrate. That is useful, specific evidence; it does not mean the finish is scratchproof. Compare like-for-like methods and specimen descriptions when assessing another product.

UV curing describes how the illustrated matt coating is hardened. It does not establish outdoor weather resistance, and the catalogue’s matt-film label does not establish that every version uses that same coating. The technical reference keeps these results with their product-specific scope.

Make the sample comparison useful

Bring the finish, decorative layout and daily care into one decision.

View the selected samples upright in the lighting planned for the room. Look at them straight on and from an angle, then place two panels together. This gives the team a shared reference for the appearance of the face, the joint and the image across it.

Record the actual decor, finish, batch reference, panel orientation and dimensions. A familiar marble or wood name does not guarantee an identical print or surface between suppliers, formats or production runs. Where image continuity matters, retain the designated panel sequence rather than expecting any two pieces to match.

Keep the selected cleaning instructions with the sample. The reference guidance uses a soft damp cloth and pH-neutral cleaner, avoiding abrasive scrubbers and harsh solvents. A laboratory stain result is separate from permission to use a cleaner repeatedly on the installed finish.

For showers, the surface decision sits within the complete wall system. Matt or gloss does not determine the water performance of corners, penetrations or tray junctions. Choose those joint and trim details with the panel and its installation guidance.

A distributor’s range brief can retain these finish and sample references alongside the panel specification.

Questions about matt and gloss panels

Use the surface name to start the selection, then identify the finished product.

Is every matt ABA panel UV coated?

One documented construction describes a UV-cured matt route. The wider catalogue identifies a scratch-resistant decorative film without establishing the same coating for every variant. Obtain the surface description for the selected version.

Can the same decor be supplied in matt and gloss?

Some designs are explicitly presented in both finishes, while others have one listed finish. Printing route, format and decorative faces can also differ. Choose from the actual available combination rather than treating a decor name as a universal finish option.

Which finish should a distributor choose for shower panels?

Choose the appearance and care requirements for the intended collection, then review that version’s surface evidence and complete wet-area system. The gloss or matt label alone does not establish shower suitability or remove the need for sealed installation details.
